Supposedly when you extract the patcher in the age of conan folder it will work correctly. I don’t have the EA myself, but from what I read in my servers irc channel, you see that error when you extract the patcher (this one I assume: http://aoc-eu-control.live.ageofconan.com/upm/AoCLiveEU/PatcherSetup.exe)
in the wrong folder.

Supposedly when you extract the patcher in the age of conan folder it will work correctly.
